“Those darn millennials!” Well, believe it or not, millennials are a big, no, HUGE part of our community and society in general. Because millennials always seem one step ahead of everything because they’ve done the research online, etc., that includes buying or selling a home. But not everything can be found online. Truth be told, that’s where having an actual real estate agent can make a difference for the inexperienced. Millenials tend to seek wisdom from professionals.
Let’s start with the big one; loans. There are many people, including millennials, that don’t know the difference between private and federal loans, not to mention what their options are. And loans can be scary; especially because millennials tend to carry more student loan debt than other generations before them. A good real estate agent can review these with them, and point you in the right direction to get the information that they need.
Now, with so many options, what real estate agent should they go with? Millenials have voiced their questions and concerns out loud; “Finding a real estate agent I can trust is difficult. And no, seeing your face on a billboard or a bus bench isn’t going to help.” As a real estate agent in an extremely competitive area in South Dakota like Brookings, Aurora, Volga, Madison – I try to get involved in as many community activities that I can. I strive to understand and know what potential sellers and buyers want in a real estate agent. And being able to surround myself in these variety of events with many people, the more knowledge I gain and the more I want to help.
