Whether you’re dreaming of a white Christmas, or dreading how to keep your family and visitors busy, “chill out!” Here are some holiday fun events going on in the area this month.

Big guy coming to town

You read it right! Santa will be at McCrory Gardens Sunday 17th. Have you been good this year> Perhaps a little naughty? Find out at the McCrory Gardens Visitor Center! While you’re there, tour the beautiful Garden Glow on display in the Terrace Garden!

Midtown Men

A true holiday favorite is coming to the Swiftel Center right here in Brookings on December 14th at 7:30pm. They’ll be singing their “Holiday Hits – All Alone on Christmas”, and plenty of other yuletide classics like “Winter Wonderland,” “Let It Snow” and “Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas.” Doors open at 6:30pm.

Kids Christmas Kicks ‘n more

KCK Wildfire, one of Brookings’ greatest jungle gyms for kids of all ages, has some exciting things in store! Candyland Day Camp is Dec. 22nd from 8:00am to 5:00pm. Don’t forget about Wildfire’s Ninjago Kid’s Night Out from 6:00 to 9:00pm that same night! Then there’s their Nerf Wars on Dec. 27th from 1:00 to 3:00pm. There are costs for these special events, so be sure check out the website for more information.

Brookings sports

Go Big, Go Blue, Go Jacks! The SDSU Men’s basketball team has some games coming up on Dec. 12th and January 3rd, and the SDSU Women’s team has a game on January 3rd also. Visit gojacks.com for more details! If hockey is your thing, there’s Blizzard Hockey games January 10th and 13th.
