For the Music Lovers
The popular Downtown at Sundown, Brookings Summer Music Series that lasts 7 weeks, begins July 13th. This a free weekly music series that features local and area musicians, scrumptious foods from local Brookings vendors like Cubby’s Sports Bar and Grill. This fun event also features free face painting, dancing, inflatables and much more! Every Thursday night between July 13th and August 27th, 2017.
Then you have Music on Main brought to you by Nick’s Hamburger Shop in Downtown Brookings. Every Wednesday night at 6:00pm right in Nick’s Park, you can enjoy free live music from a new artist every week! Bring the kids, some chairs, and perhaps a tasty Nick’s burger (or two).
For the Family
Who doesn’t love a good movie? Every month, the Brookings Public Library offers a free movie night for all ages!
There’s always something fun going on at the Children’s Museum of South Dakota! Play Dates, Open Studios, Sensory Friendly Play, Science Sundays and more.
Any racing fans out there? Check out the University Plains Speedway Go Kart Racing! The South Dakota Kart Club organization is made up of racing enthusiasts who live for “The fastest kart racing in the upper Midwest!” Admission is $5 - $15, and starts July 15th through September 3rd, 2017 (schedule subject to change).
