Fall in Brookings is officially here. Here’s a new idea: Do something different!
Total Texture
Chances are, your home has a lot of neutral colors because, well, it goes with anything right? Keep the neutrals, and go for texture! It’s amazing what some faux furs, cloths, and throws can do to an ordinary room!
Gallery walls
You may or may not have some sort of theme for your room and or home. Now’s your chance to compile them together to tell your story with a gallery wall. Check out Artworks in Brookings, a locally owned downtown Brookings Buessines. Now, it doesn’t all have to be pictures in frames. It can be decorative plates, rustic art and décor, etc. https://www.facebook.com/ArtworksBBC/?rf=117785534914925
Mix ‘n Match Away
Accessories, pillows, tables, lamps, furniture- you name it! Take some risks; it creates wonderful conversation and keeps everyone guessing. For example, white and silver together. Or even white on white.
Shake Things Up
Think in groups of three or five. Now find some fun artwork pieces, bookends, table décor. Combine it all on a small table for your new fall vignette! A couple more Downtown Brookings Businesses can help with that is Flowers On Main, The Carrot Seed and Hitch Studio.
To brighten up the basic black, add some fun fall colors for creative contrast! And here’s the fun part; the colors don’t have to match either! Go color-crazy, and make it pop.
Flea Market Finds
Don’t count out the littler guys! Sometimes, your area yard sale or flea market can hold the key to make any centerpiece complete and tie it all together. The rule of thumb is: If you find a piece you absolutely love, you will find a place for it. And don’t forget about vintage accessories; they make wonderful décor no matter what room it is- master or guest bathroom, bedroom, kitchen, dining room and so on. Another couple places to check out in Brookings is Bargains on Main and Threads of Memories. You can also try 3rd And Main Antiques.
Are you and your family new to the area or thinking of moving here? Brookings, Volga, Aurora, and other surrounding areas in South Dakota are perfect places to consider making your permanent residence. Not to mention, when you come home at the end of the day, you’re coming home to your home.
