Every Monday Morning at 8:15am, join me on my Facebook page as I sit down with a local lender, and do a live interview and talk about a Mortgage Tip that may help YOU with your next Real Estate Purchase.

This morning I sat down with Emmy Lebert from Dakotaland FCU. Today, Emmy talked about the difference of a Credit Union vs. Bank.  You can reach Emmy at 605.697.5922 or emmyl@dakotalandfcu.com  Her office is located at 2423 6th St., Brookings SD 57006 or on the web at www.DakotalandFCU.com

- Hey, good morning everybody! It's 8:15, it's Monday morning, and it's Monday Morning Mortgage Tip. Today, I got Emmy here with Dakotaland Federal Credit Union. Oh, by the way, this is Shane with The Brookings Home Team powered by Century 21, you better not forget that. With that being said, go ahead and take it away, Emmy.

- One of the questions that we get asked a lot lately is what's the difference between a credit union and a bank? The biggest answer that we tell people is Dakotaland is a not-for-profit financial cooperative so we are a not-for-profit company and a financial cooperative. When you do a loan with us or become a member with a checking account or savings account, basically that just means that you are becoming basically a shareholder of the company. So you get to vote on our board members which are volunteers. Our board members are not paid and then you get to become a member, you get to vote for those people, and with that, we offer lower rates. That's how we're a not-for-profit. We take all of our money that we get, put it back, give it to the members so we can offer lower rates and lower fees. So I always encourage everybody to definitely get a couple different quotes from financial institutions and definitely come to Dakotaland and try it so.

- And that goes for the mortgage rates as well, you're very competitive with those and everything, so perfect. Alright, well, that's the Monday Morning Mortgage Tip with Emmy here at Dakotaland. Of course, if you have any questions for her, please reach out to her. She'd be happy to talk to ya. I'll have her information on the sides, on the bottom, on the top, wherever your device allows you to see that and of course, you can reach out to me too at any time and I can put you in touch with her as well and if you do have any questions about mortgages that you'd like answered on the next episode, please let us know and we'll be sure to answer that next time as well. So I'm getting ready for the fair that's why I'm not dressed up today so hopefully, maybe I'll see some of you out there this week.

- Shane's gonna melt.

- Gonna melt, might be a hot sticky one but let us know if we can help, guys. Thanks for watching and be sure to share this or tag this to anybody that you think would benefit from the video as well. Thanks again, have a great week. We'll see you later.

- Happy Monday!
